About this event

  • 3 hours

Join BioBlitz Club and Keep Coyote Creek Beautiful for our second South Bay ID Party! At the end of April each year, we host BioBlitz events as part of the City Nature Challenge - a global event where hundreds of cities from around the world will compete for the highest number of observations, observers, and species on iNaturalist. The entire Bay Area is participating as one city, and in order to help us win, we need to identify as many observations as possible. With over 25 events in the region, that’s a lot of observations to confirm!

During the event we will demonstrate how to identify observations on iNaturalist. You can get ready by watching this video. Afterwards participants could identify observations on their own laptops, individually or in small groups.

Even if you don't know how to identify organisms to species level, you can still help! By sorting "unknown" observations to "plants", "mammals", "insects", or "fungi", experts in those fields can find observations that need to be identified.
